News / Night of Churches 2017 in Czech Republic

The traditional nationwide event in the Czech Republic "Night of Churches 2017" contributed to the EUU lecture by Prof. Ing. Janka Krivošová on "Churches in Europe and Slovakia". The Evangelical Temple of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren in Vsetín was also decorated with originals and reproductions of the unique artworks with the spiritual theme of this Slovak professor. Especially cycle took 16 tapestries which illustrate approximate Christian history and Evangelics in Hungary and Slovakia, including savage recatholisation and executions evangelical intellectuals, which was planned and carried out by the Habsburg dynasty.

Exhibitions of these tapestries are being prepared this year mainly in Slovakia, also in Germany and Switzerland, to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the publication of the Reformed Church Theses of Dr. Martin Luther in Wittenberg.
