News / Chinese New Year celebration in Prague

On February 2, 2024, a great concert was held in the large hall of the Municipal Library in Prague to start the Chinese New Year 2024 (Year of the Dragon). The ensemble of the Music Academy of Zhejiang Province – the largest music school in the world – performed its original compositions with the historical musical instruments of millennia-old China. Another interesting feature was the arrangement of the Largo from Dvořák’s 9th Symphony in E minor From the New World. At the end of the concert, the members of the EUU presidium presented their main European prize for artistic and cultural activity - the Golden Europea. Mr. Feng Biao, the ambassador of the PRC in Prague, also received the thanks with the EUU’s honorable mention. The performance of the Zhejiang ensemble was appreciated by the audience with warm applause.
